On the 20th of November 2010, I will be holding an exhibition, and giving a demonstration of my work at the New Art Gallery, Walsall. Come and take a look at my Islamic manuscript illuminations, and learn more about this rare, exquisite art form! The event runs from 11am – 4pm on Saturday, the 20th of November. It is free, and it is part of the Inspiring Women’s Talents programme, being held at the gallery.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
I love your blog. It is amazing and would like to thank you for sharing with us the wonderful experiences with art.
I wish I could attend your classes. Actually, Tezhip has been one of my favourite interests but I can not understand it. I do not know what to do to be able to learn it.
Any advice!!

Once again, Thanks for all the wonderful work you present.
Have a great day

Hello Aziz!
I can recommend two great books on illumination motifs:
Motifler Türk Tezyini Sanatlarinda has parallel English and Turkish text.
Türk Tezyini Sanatlarinda Desen Tasarimi is written in Turkish with excellent diagrams showing how the patterns are constructed.
Unfortunately, I don’t know of any tezhib teachers in Bahrain. I started my training at the Prince’s School of Traditional Arts in London:

I hope that is helpful to you!
